For this 7 days Haba Snow Mountain tour, you will have one more day for decending from Base Camp to Haba Village. - Enjoy a walking tour of Tiger Leaping Gorge. Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest gorges in the world and is famous for its majestic scenery. Walking along the gorge, you will experience surging rivers, steep cliffs and magnificent natural scenery. During the hike, you can feel the wonders of nature and immerse yourself in the shock and beauty of this magical land.
Itinerary
Our guide and driver will pick you up in the airport, then transfer to your hotel. If time permits, visit Lijiang Ancient Town.
Lijiang Old Town has a history more than 800 years; it was listed as the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO 1997.
From Lijiang, you’ll drive about 60KM to the First Bend of the Yangtze River with imposing gorge scenery, and the Iron Chain Bridge in the Shigu town. This town got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped like a drum. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley which is filled with wheat fields and drying haystacks.
Continue the driving 40KM more to visit Upper Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area because you can find gold in the river.
Then, you’ll head for the Middle Part of Tiger Leaping Gorge for your lunch. After a short trekking in Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge, back to Tina’s guesthouse. Overnight in Tina’s guesthouse.
Continue your trekking to Walnut Garden, then drive to Haba Village which is a small Naxi village located at the food of Haba Snow Mountain.
Arrive at Haba Snow Mountain Guesthouse in Haba Village. You will prepare for your equipment and acclimatize yourself to the altitude(2600M in Haba Snow Mountain Guesthouse.) After lunch, examine your heart rate and blood oxygen content. Learn the knowledge, condition and introduction of the Haba Snow Mountain Climbing.
Overnight at Haba Snow Mountain Guesthouse.
Trek up the Haba Mountain for about 15 km to the Base Camp at the 4200 m, which will take about 7 hours, with yaks taking your luggage. You will have picnic lunch in Haba Snow Mountain. You only need to take some water, clothe and necessary food. The other equipment will be transferred by the horses to the Basic Camp.
Get up at 3:00 am, prepare for your equipment and have a simple breakfast. Examine your health condition before leaving for the top at 4:00 AM. You will leave most of your luggage at the Camp 1, just need to take your mountaineering tools, such as the rope, ice axe, ice pick, the bag, some solid food, a warm pot of water, clothe, headlight, climbing equipment for the climbing to the summit of Haba Mountain.
–Camp1 is located just before the 2nd grey slab at about 4800 m. Usually people did not stay there but from what you could observe it seems quite unconfortable due to the very rocky and uneven surface. A small pond nearby provides water.
You will try toclimb about 4 km to the top of the Haba Snow Mountain at the 5396m, which will take about 5 hours. It is the ice and snow trail from the camp 1 to the summit. Enjoy the wonderful scenery of Haba Snow Mountain and Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with Yangtze River in the middle, take the pictures as souvenir. Here will be an unforgettable station of your life.
After having a picnic lunch, you will trek down to Camp 1 to take your luggage, then continue trek down to the Base Camp. Our service clerk at the BC will prepare good meals and waiting for you. Overnight at the Base Camp at 4200M.
Trek down from Base Camp to the Long Wang Bian Village, with yaks taking your luggage. Visit Heihai Lake with the original forest. After lunch, drive back to Lijiang.
