The Chinese Tourist Visa (L Visa) is issued to foreign citizens, including Thai citizens, who intend to travel to China for short-term tourism, visiting friends or relatives, or engaging in other non-commercial activities.
Steps to Apply for a Chinese Tourist Visa
1. Prepare Required Documents
To apply for a Chinese Tourist Visa, Thai citizens need to prepare the following basic documents:
- Valid Passport: The passport must be valid for at least six months and have at least one blank visa page.
- Visa Application Form: A completed Visa Application Form of the People’s Republic of China (must be filled out and printed online).
- Photograph: A recent, full-face, color passport photo (48×33 mm) with a white background.
- Travel Itinerary:
- A detailed travel plan, including cities to be visited, dates of stay, and itinerary arrangements in China.
- Confirmed round-trip flight tickets.
- Hotel reservation confirmations (if applicable).
- Invitation Letter (Optional): If invited by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen residing in China, an invitation letter may be provided. The letter should include the inviter’s personal information, contact details, and the invitee’s travel arrangements.
- Other Possible Documents:
- Proof of financial means (e.g., bank statements, pay slips).
- Travel insurance (recommended but not mandatory).
2. Choose Application Channels
Thai citizens can apply for a Chinese visa through the following channels:
- Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Thailand: Submit the application directly at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Thailand.
- Visa Application Service Center: The Visa Application Service Center is an officially authorized institution that handles visa applications. In Thailand, the Visa Application Service Center is located in Bangkok.
3. Submit the Application
- Fill out the application form online: Visit the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (https://cova.mfa.gov.cn) to fill out and print the visa application form.
- Book an appointment: Schedule a time to submit your documents according to the requirements of the Visa Application Service Center.
- Visit the visa center or embassy/consulate: Bring all prepared documents and go to the Visa Application Service Center or the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in Thailand to submit your application.
4. Pay the Fees
- Visa Fees: The cost of a Chinese Tourist Visa varies depending on the type of visa and duration of stay. Typically, the fee for a single-entry tourist visa is RMB 160, while a multiple-entry visa costs RMB 420 (the exact fee is subject to the local embassy or visa center’s announcement).
- Urgent Processing Fees: If urgent processing is required, additional fees may apply.
5. Wait for Approval
- Processing Time: The usual processing time for visa applications is 3-5 working days. Urgent processing may take 1-2 working days.
- Collect the Visa: Once the visa is approved, applicants need to visit the Visa Application Service Center or the embassy/consulate to collect their visa.
Types of Visas and Validity
- Single-Entry Visa: Allows one entry into China with a typical stay duration of up to 30 days.
- Multiple-Entry Visa: Allows multiple entries within the visa’s validity period, with each stay typically up to 30 days.
Important Notes
- Apply in Advance: It is recommended to start the visa application process at least two weeks before your planned travel to ensure sufficient time for processing.
- Authenticity of Documents: All submitted documents must be genuine and valid. False information may lead to visa rejection.
- Travel Itinerary: The travel itinerary should be reasonable and detailed to avoid visa rejection due to an unreasonable plan.
- Visa Policy Changes: Visa policies may be subject to change. It is advisable to visit the official website of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand or the Visa Application Service Center to obtain the latest information before applying.

Yes. You can save your online visa application wherever you see the "Save & Exit" icon. To login again and complete your application, you will require your unique "Visa Application Id". This number will have been sent to the email address that you supplied in your application security details.

If you didn't submit your application finally you can do the change. After submitting the application you can't change it.
All date fields in our forms are set up in the following format: dd/mm/yyyy (for example 21/08/2011).
